An interest in gardening is educational for a young child, but can potentially be good for their health too.
Encouraging the kids to take part in physical activity outside in the fresh air helps to keep them fit and kids who get involved in growing fruit or vegetables will always want to eat them, normally before they’re even ready!
Its advisable to section off part of your garden for the kids, hopefully they will concentrate on their own little garden and not do too much damage elsewhere.
There’s a huge range in the quantity, quality and cost of garden tools available for children nowadays, so consider whether the tools are intended merely as a toy or perhaps they might be a little bit more sturdy and functional if they are for a budding young green-fingered expert of the future!
A garden tool box or gardening tool kit bag is very useful when it comes to keeping a tool set tidy and in one piece. We find that kids will take more pride and responsibility in putting their tools away when they have a special purpose bag or box.
All kids love to play with water, so consider buying them a small watering can…just make sure that they understand it is not a toy for inside the house.
